Status on Our Current Building

The phrase “Due Diligence” is a well-meaning concept, and for the contracted buyers of our building and property it is an absolute necessity. How many times have we as Unity Truth Students want to “push that rope” and our ego makes a decision instead of allowing divine order to lead us along that path. The Due Diligence period we are currently find ourselves IS the right time. I’m reminded of Robert Brummet’s “Finding Yourself In Transition” when we move from the ”Ending” stage into the “Void” which we must experience before we can get to the “Beginning”. Breathe.

The prospective buyers have made a number of visits to our property, asking the questions they need in order to make a final determination to purchase the building and property.

The Due Diligence period is scheduled to end on July 31st. If they choose to continue with the purchase, the closing date will be August 30th.

The buyer is granting us 60 days in which to move into our new space. We will need some of that time to allow some minor construction and some painting to occur.

In early August, I will coordinate with the tenant of the space we will be moving and schedule a time after a Sunday worship service where our spiritual community can visit the new space. As the space is currently a church with Sunday worship services, we must be mindful as to not interfere with their programs.

Much progress continues to be made in preparing the furnishings to relocate or to release.

Micky, Bernard, and Barbara (Harris) spent considerable time in the creation of the “Sell” and “Keep” rooms. Due to the delay incurred in building sale and our relocation, the company facilitating the Liquidation sale has agreed to push the sale to October.

Our attorney successfully negotiated an agreement with the original buyer and assignee for the release of the escrow funds from the defaulted contract.

How You Can Help

When we finally have a date for the relocation, we’ll be in a position at that time to seek assistance in packing up the offices that will be relocating.

Thank you for your continued interest and patience during this period.

Thank you to those who completed the survey below. My intent for this survey is to better understand how you, our members and congregants feel about the weekly updated information related to the sale and move.

Should you have any questions, please ask me.
